Activity Sheet #1
My Community — Using poster paper, design your ideal community. You can draw your own or use the cut and paste pictures and words supplied to help you.
Council looks after places and spaces where we all live, learn and play. These spaces include local streets, parks, playgrounds, sportsgrounds and facilities, libraries and shopping areas.
When we think about what makes a healthy place, we need to think about its physical and social features.
We want to hear from you about the things in your neighbourhood that impacts your ability to live happy, healthy and connected lives.
We want to hear from you about any health, wellbeing or social issue that is important to you, and hear your ideas on how we can address these and make positive change in our community.
This page contains a variety of resources you can use to have your say. You can complete a survey, complete an audit of your local neighbourhood, write a letter to the Mayor or get creative and write a poem or perform a song – plus so much more!
These resource range in complexity, suitable for children, young people and young adults – however can be used by anyone, including education providers who may like to use them in the classroom or to supplement online learning tasks.
You can choose to complete one or more of the activities listed on this page below. Simply download the activity sheet PDF, print it out, complete and email to healthplan@shepparton.vic.gov.au.
There are prizes up for grabs for having your say, including Aquamoves passes, KidsTown vouchers and birthday party, stand-up paddle board and paddle boat hire, cinema vouchers and more. Prizes are drawn at random.
Looking after the health of people in our community is one of the important jobs that Council does. This year, we are busy creating our Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Action Plan.
This plan will guide how we will work over the next few years to make our neighbourhood a healthier place to live.
We are going to be designing places and spaces and your input and ideas will help us to plan for and build healthier places for you, your family and friends, and everyone else.
A series of activity sheets have been designed with young people in mind to share their ideas on health and wellbeing issues that matter to them along with suggestions for programs and services to make positive change.
These activity sheets can however be used by anyone, including education providers who may like to use them in the classroom or to supplement online learning tasks.
Submit your completed activity sheets via email to healthplan@shepparton.vic.gov.au to have your ideas included in Council’s Public Health and Wellbeing Action Plan.
