Council has developed a Draft Mobility and Road Safety & Action Plan which will help us identify issues and opportunities for improvement, plan and prioritise work, and meet the road safety needs of the community.

We want to gather community feedback to ensure the Draft Mobility and Road Safety Strategy & Action Plan aligns with the community’s needs and priorities. This will help create a safer, more accessible, and sustainable road and transport network.

It is now available for final community feedback.

Our Vision is to ensure that anyone who travels through Greater Shepparton municipality arrives at their destination safely.

Aligned with the National Road Safety Strategy and Victorian Road Safety Strategy, our goal is to achieve zero fatalities and serious injuries by 2050, with an interim target of halving road deaths by 2030.
  • Use of The Safe System – Safer Roads, Safer Speeds, Safer Vehicles, Safer Road Users.
  • Evidence based, innovative solutions.
  • Promoting sustainable and active transport.

In conjunction with face-to-face consultation workshops with key stakeholders and the community in 2024, an online survey (see 'Previous Consultation' tab below) was conducted for the local community to express their views on road safety in Greater Shepparton.
