So, what’s happening with KidsTown?
KidsTown Adventure Playground has been a much-loved part of Greater Shepparton for almost 30 years. Sadly, age and flood damage have taken a toll.
From the August 2025 Council Meeting, Council resolved to:
- Begin a comprehensive community engagement process to shape a new KidsTown Master Plan.
- Allocate $650,000 in 2025/26 for essential rehabilitation works in collaboration with key stakeholders.
This marks the beginning of a journey to secure the future of KidsTown as a safe, inclusive, and iconic space for generations to come.
Your voice, our next step
Consultation for its revitalisation is now underway, with planning, development and construction works highly anticipated by the community.
The first stage of the redevelopment of KidsTown is the removal of defective equipment for site remediation. Once the equipment is removed we would to know what you would like to see happen in the space until design work is undertaken and the Master Plan process can commence? It will take some time for an exciting new design to developed and at that second stage we will be looking for your participation.
QUESTION: What would you like to see done with the site before the design work starts?
Your input now will help us get the conversation started and ensure that future decisions are shaped by community needs and aspirations.
The answers to these questions and more will be shared publicly on our Project Page's FAQ section.
