Greater Shepparton City Council established the Calder Woodburn Memorial Avenue Advisory Committee to advocate for the future conservation of the Calder Woodburn Memorial Avenue.

The Memorial Avenue is of historic, aesthetic and social cultural heritage significance to the State of Victoria.

The Committee was established in accordance with the Terms of Reference.

The Advisory Committee are highly active group working towards the conservation, promotion and funding of the restoration of the Memorial Avenue. In the last three years the committee have

  • Installed replacement name plates that honour the memory of our servicemen,
  • Organised tree plantings at the Calder Woodburn Memorial Rest Stop, and
  • Organised the effective management of invasive species such as the prickly pear.
