Council is excited to be moving forward with the design of a bike jump park at the old Mooroopna Harness Racing Facility in Mooroopna.
The proposed plan is to revitalise the former harness racing site located at the corner of McLennan Street and Elsie Jones Drive Mooroopna into a bike jump park.
A ‘Bike Jump Park’ is a style of facility that consists of a series of consecutive elements and features that can include, but are not limited to, jumps banked turns or berms and other technical features.
It is intended that the Greater Shepparton Bike Jump Park will primarily be targeted at beginner through to intermediate riders, allowing skill development and ongoing rider progression and enjoyment.
This project was previously included in Council’s Capital Works program, as a Design and (Part) Construction Project, however, this Tender process was subsequently abandoned due to concerns with the ability to successfully fulfil the scope of works within the project constraints.
The project scope has been reviewed and included in Council’s 2025/26 Capital Works program, as a design-only project. This change in scope will draw upon previous consultation outputs to develop a concept design for the new bike jump park and also includes further community consultation throughout the concept design development. Once the concept design has been finalised, Council will be able to plan for future development of the park.
